- All Optimal Media plating symbols (e.g. "1+" and "XƧ") are mirrored and some of them may also be upside down. The numeral 1 (i.e., 𐰃) is etched in the continental style with a long riser, and can be misread as V or Λ. Within the string of variant 5, side D, the symbol transcribed as "Δ" actually looks like an etching of 3 separate lines in a triangular arrangement and has a dot on the top.
