Commentaires/anecdotes sur ce disque : Mars 1961 : les Beatles repartent à Hambourg où ils jouent au Top Ten Club.
ils font la rencontre de Klaus Voormann, peintre et musicien (futur Manfred Mann et Plastic Ono Band) et d'Astrid Kircheer, photographe.
Stuart et Astrid tombent amoureux, et cette dernière aura une influence énorme sur le groupe : la coupe de cheveux d'abord, puis ses nombreuses photos serviront de modèles pour certaines pochettes de disques ("With The Beatles" en 1963).

ils rencontrent également le chanteur Tony Sheridan et l'accompagnent sur scène occasionnellement.

Mai : ils reçoivent l'offre de Bert Kampfaert d'enregistrer avec Sheridan plusieurs titres pour Polydor.
pour la scéance, Paul Mccartney tient la basse, Stuart n'étant pas suffisemment bon techniquement.
